NORMAN, Okla. (SMU) - Nathan Petronzio sits in a tie for 25^th place after round one of the NCAA Norman Regional from Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club.
 
Petronzio started his first round with a pair of pars on one and two before birdieing three to move to one under. A birdie-bogey conclusion wrapped up his front nine still at one under and sitting in a tie for 18^th place. A birdie on the par four 10^th moved Petronzio to two under but a bogey on the 11^th moved him back to one under. On 13 and 14, the junior again traded a birdie for a bogey. He finished the day with three pars and one bogey on his final four holes. The Bee Cave, Texas native concluded the day with an even par score and holds a share of 25^th place.
 
With an even par round, Petronzio carded his 21^st round of par or better on the season, tied for ninth all-time at SMU. The junior sits four strokes back of an advancing position currently occupied by Will King of Kansas (-4).  Petronzio finished the day two-under while playing the par five holes, two-over on the par fours and even par on the par threes.

Petronzio tees off round two at 10:12 a.m. as he looks to climb the leaderboard in the middle round.
