IRVING, Texas - SMU quarterback Preston Stone was named the American Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week on Monday in a release by the conference.

This is the first time the Dallas native has won the award in his collegiate career.

Stone is coming off a career game this past Saturday against Prairie View A&M. The sophomore quarterback led a high-powered offensive attack, resulting in a 69-0 victory over the Panthers.

The first-year starter finished up his day completing 15 of 20 passes for 300 yards and five touchdowns. He also ran for another score in the win. Overall, Stone set career highs in passing yards, passing touchdowns and total touchdowns. 

The Mustangs return to action this upcoming Saturday to take on TCU in the Battle for the Iron Skillet in Fort Worth. Kick is set for 11 a.m. and can be seen on FS1.
