WACO, Texas (NCEA/SMU) – Mustangs junior Alexa Black has earned NCEA Arion Sellier Horsemanship Rider of the Month accolades for September, the National Collegiate Equestrian Association announced on Wednesday.

Black earned MOP honors in Horsemanship during SMU's season opener against No. 1 TCU. She gained a, 77.5-75, victory to help the Mustangs win Horsemanship, 3-2.

This marks the first Rider of the Month accolade the Cedarville, Ohio, native has picked up.

Each month, the NCEA announces its Arion Sellier Rider of the Month for all four events.

No. 2 SMU faces off against No. 4 Texas A&M at 1 p.m. on Thursday.
