DALLAS (SMU) – SMU Women's Swimming and Diving travels to Florida for double dual meet on Friday and a dual meet on Saturday.
The Mustangs begin their weekend with a double dual meet against No. 25 Miami and Rutgers at Coral Gables, Florida on Friday. They will head to FIU the next day for another dual meet to close the weekend.
Double Dual At Coral Gables
The Mustangs are set for a double dual meet against No. 24 Miami and Rutgers at Coral Gables, Florida.
SMU swam against the Hurricanes in their season-opener.
Mustangs vs. Panthers
SMU will face FIU as part of its Florida dual meet trip. The Mustangs will head to Miami, a day after their double dual meet against Miami and Rutgers.
The SMU Classic
SMU opened its season by hosting four top-25 programs in the SMU Classic on Oct. 11-12.
Jaclynn Fowler highlighted the meet by making an NCAA Diving Zones Qualifying Standard in the 1-meter diving with a score of 282.55.
Jimena Leal was the Mustangs' highest scorer with 32 points at the home meet. Leal swam a person best in the 100 back with a time of 53.84.
Isabella Krantzcke is the second-highest-scoring Mustang with 31 points.
A New Look
SMU's 2024-25 squad features 10 new faces. The newcomer group consists of five freshmen and five transfers. Among the transfers is
Madeleine Hebert, who transferred from NC State, providing ACC experience. Sophomores
Madison Parker and
Mira Szimcsak joined the Mustangs from Washington State,
Isabella Krantzcke transferred from Arizona State, and
Rachel Anderson hails from Loughborough University in England.
The diving team welcomed three freshmen.
Reagan Evans,
Sadie Klepfer and
Natalie Stubbs will compete as rookie Mustangs.
