Women’s Soccer Adds Nicholson on National Signing Day

DALLAS (SUM)— SMU Women's Soccer Head Coach Nicole Nelson announced the signing of midfielder Lindsay Nicholson on Wednesday, National Signing Day.

"We are very excited to add Lindsay; her values and standards are in alignment with our program's and her potential is tremendous," Nelson said."Lindsay was a top prospect in this 2025 recruiting class that believes in the vision of what we are capable of as a program in the ACC"

A native of Palm Harbor, Fla., she currently is an academy player for the Tampa Bay Sun FC which has helped take her game to the next level. Nicholson played club soccer for NC Courage before making the move to play with Tamps USL team. 

She played two years of varsity level soccer at Palm Harbor University High School where she made back-to-back 7A final four appearances contributing 19 goals and 11 assists during her freshman season and 17 goals and six assists as a sophomore year.

Outside of soccer Nicholson has made an impact in her local community by volunteering with a variety of organizations, with most recently volunteering to coach a u8 team with TBU. She has also worked with the San Jose mission to give sporting goods to local children and volunteered to package meals through her church and hand out meals through the soup kitchen in Tampa.

Nicholson has two cousins who are currently enrolled at SMU including Kaite Nicholson who is currently on the SMU Rowing team. Nicholson plans to major in business while at SMU.
