Five Things to Know About Melody Mattox '91, President
of the SMU Mustang Club Board of Directors.
- Melody is serving her first year as President and sixth year on the Mustang Club Board. She carries a passion for increasing female representation in board leadership, developing tangible goals, and providing meaningful change.
- After graduating from SMU with a BS in Mechanical Engineering, Melody started her career in management consulting. Now as Chief People Officer for Sendero, a management consulting firm based in Dallas, Melody leads people-related strategic initiatives and provides leadership to all Talent Management functions. She has over 30 years of experience spanning consulting, IT, and multiple industries.
- Melody and her husband are avid supporters of their alma mater, SMU. They are invested in various areas across the university, most notably, Athletics, Student Affairs, Meadows School, Lyle School, and Dedman College.
- When not cheering on the Mustangs, she can be found watching sports, reading, traveling, and spending time with her son. Melody passionately supports charities and organizations that empower and assist women and children. She has visited all 50 US states and is a muscle car aficionado.
- Melody is thrilled to be in this role as we start our first year competing in the ACC. She believes the role of the Mustang Club and its Board is crucial to the success of our student athletes, coaches, and athletics department. The Mustang Club Board will continue to expand our reach with our alumni and community, focus on giving opportunities for all sports, and advocate for SMU Athletics.
