CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com/SMU) – The Atlantic Coast Conference recognized
Averi Carlson on Monday for her performances in the Mustangs' two wins over Florida State and No. 18 Miami this week. Carlson was named ACC Setter of the Week, her fourth ACC weekly honor of the season.
Carlson logged an ACC-best 89 assists this week, 11.13 assists per set, including a 52-assist and 11-dig outing against Florida State on Friday. She followed that up with 37 assists, eight digs and five blocks in Sunday's win at No. 18 Miami. The Lucas, Texas, native led SMU to a .336 hitting percentage in the two matches.
Carlson currently ranks third nationally in assists per set (11.16) and eighth in total assists (703), leading the ACC in both categories.
This season, SMU has won seven ACC weekly awards. During Head Coach
Sam Erger's tenure, the Mustangs have earned 22 conference weekly honors.
