DALLAS (SMU) - SMU Volleyball moved to No. 7 in the latest AVCA/TARAFLEX Division I WVB Poll, released on Monday by the association. It is the highest ranking in program history, surpassing last week's No. 8 ranking.
The Mustangs have won six straight matches, including wins on the road against No. 4 Louisville and Notre Dame over the weekend. The five-set victory over the Cardinals marked the highest road ranked win in program history and snapped Louisville's 39-match home win streak inside L&N Federal Credit Union Arena.
After cracking the top 25 for the first time last season, the Mustangs have been ranked in 22 straight polls. SMU is one of six teams that represent the conference in this week's poll, four of the six are inside the top 10. Â
SMU will return home this weekend after four straight away from Moody Coliseum for matches against Wake Forest on Friday, Oct. 24 at 7 p.m. Ct and NC State on Sunday, Oct. 26 at 1 p.m. CT.
