DALLAS (SMU) – SMU Women's Swimming and Diving will host No. 25 Texas A&M at Robson & Lindley Aquatic Center on Friday and Saturday.
The last time the Mustangs faced Texas A&M was in 2024 at College Station, Texas, when the Aggies won 176-111.
Johanna Gudmundsdottir earned two wins for SMU against the then No. 11 Aggies, touching first in the 50 free with a time of 22.95 and 100 free (49.50).
The Mustangs currently have 11 marks in the NCAA Top 50. SMU's 400 medley relay team of

Cassidy Allison and
Maddy Parker clocked a time of 3:39.10 at the SMU Classic--which is currently the 16th-fastest time in the nation.

ACC Weekly Awards Sweep
Macey Oppliger and
Summer Osborne were named Atlantic Coast Conference Performers of the Week as announced by the conference on Oct. 7.
The Mustangs swept the ACC weekly honors following their quad meet sweep against UNT, UIW and Oklahoma Christian on Friday.
Oppliger earned her first ACC honors after her first collegiate meet against UNT, UIW and Oklahoma Christian where she won the 3-meter while earning an NCAA Zone Cut with a score of 300.15.
Osborne won the 100 free, 200 free and anchored SMU's winning 400 free relay in Friday's quad meet against UNT, UIW and Oklahoma Christian.
The Auckland, New Zealand, native currently holds the fastest 200 free time (1:47.02) in the country after week two of college swimming and diving.
These awards were the program's first ACC weekly honors.
SMU's Season Opener
SMU won 15 out of 16 events in its season-opener quad meet against at Robson & Lindley Aquatics Center on Friday.
Isabella Krantzcke won three individual events, while
Annemarie Vlaic and
Macey Oppliger won their first collegiate events.
Returning To The Hilltop
SMU returned 10 Mustangs from their first season in the Atlantic Coast Conference. The 10 returners include NCAA Championships performer
Maddy Parker and 2024 two-time American Athletic Conference champion,
Jimena Leal.
Parker placed 26th in the 100 Free at the NCAA Championships. She swam the second-fastest time in SMU history in the 100 Free (48.09), the third fastest 50 Free time in program history (22.26) and fifth fastest 200 Free in history (1:45.69) last season.
Leal won the 200 back and 400 medley relay while finishing second in the 100 back in the AAC Championships in 2024. That season, Leal made two NCAA B cuts in the 100 and 200 back. Senior
Tiffanie Ruan is the only returning swimmer from the 400 free relay quartet that won gold in the 2024 AAC Championships.
On the diving side,
Reagan Evans returned after placing 53rd on 3-meter (234.20) at the NCAA Zone Diving Championships. She placed 14th on 3-meter at the ACC Championships.
New Associate Head Coach
McCall joined the Mustangs after serving four years at TCU Swimming and Diving. She spent two years as the Horned Frogs' assistant coach before getting promoted to associate head coach in 2023.
Prior to her time in Fort Worth, Texas, McCall spent five years at Florida Atlantic University Swimming and Diving as an assistant coach, where she was the lead recruiter for FAU's men's team. She recruited three athletes who broke school records in their first appearances for FAU in the past two years.
In her first year at SMU, she won gold medals in the 800 free relay and 1650 free, along with a bronze medal in the 200 free and runner-up honors in the 500 free. She was a member of the C-USA championship-winning 800 free relay team as a junior. In addition to great athletic results, McCall also earned Scholar Baller Honors for showing progression in academics over the course of her four years at SMU.
