DALLAS (SMU) – No. 7 SMU Equestrian dropped a tiebreaker meet against No. 3 Auburn 10-10 (1645.75-1645.38), sweeping the Western events and earning the two MOPs.
In Fences, Aedan Mooney claimed her first win of the meet, defeating Kate Hagerty 85.5-82.5. Freshman Schuyler Dayner earned the other Fences victory, posting a score of 86.
In Horsemanship, Ava Blyth took home the 75.5-74.75 win over Auburn's Callie Hogg. Blyth earned the MOP, claiming her second consecutive MOP and extending SMU's now 20 straight Horsemanship MOP streak. Alexa Black also found success, winning her point with a 74.25 performance.
On Flat, the Mustangs were victorious, going 3-2. Aedan Mooney won her second event, besting the Tigers' Kate Parker 86.5-85. Caroline Signorino nabbed a victory as well, scoring an 83.5 to beat her opponent, Kate Hagerty. The third point on Flat came from Genevieve Johns, riding Chunky to earn a 79.5 and the victory.
In Reining, SMU won 3-2. Sara Beth Filiatreau defeated Sofia Tieche 70-67.75 for the victory. Makenna Bomke scored a 74.5 on Jon Snow, nabbing the win and the MOP. Continuing her perfect 3-0 college career, Madison Rafacz won her match-up against Callie Hogg 73.75-70.75.
Ultimately, the meet came down to a 10-10 tiebreaker, with the raw scores of 1645.38-1645.75 tipping the victory to Auburn.
