CHARLOTTE, N.C. (ACC/SMU) – Freshman SMU diver RJ Snyder has been named the ACC Diver of the Week, the conference announced in a release on Tuesday.
In his collegiate debut on Oct. 3 against Oklahoma Christian and Incarnate Word, Snyder made the podium on both 1-meter and 3-meter, claiming his first college victory on 3-meter. On 1-meter, Snyder scored a 313.35 in an exhibition, the third-highest in the event. On 3-meter, the Georgia native placed first with a score of 326.00. The scores on both events earned him two NCAA Zone cuts, securing his spot at the NCAA Zone Diving Championships on March 9-11 in College Station, Texas.
In the summer of 2025, Snyder competed at the 2025 USA Diving Junior Nationals. He made it to the semifinals on both 1-meter and 3-meter, placing 13th (389.95) and 15th (437.50), respectively.
Prior to SMU, the diver found success during his high school career, nabbing two state titles on 1-meter (2024, 2025). He currently holds the Georgia state record on 1-meter after earning a score of 698.70 at the 2025 Georgia High School Association 5A State Championships.

The Mustangs will host their annual SMU Classic on Friday, Oct. 10 and Saturday, Oct. 11 at 3 p.m. CT and 10 a.m., respectively. SMU will face LSU, Auburn, Drury and ACC rival Louisville.
