DALLAS (SMU) – No. 7 SMU equestrian took home the final win of 2025, defeating the No.9 Baylor Bears 11-6 and securing three MOPs.
Starting on Flat, the Mustangs bested the Bears 3-2. Caroline Signorino earned herself a victory, beating Baylor's Lauren Reid 85-84. Genevieve Johns picked up the second point on Flat for SMU. The Indiana native scored an 81 to secure her win. The final point came from freshman Schuyler Dayner. With a seven-point win margin, Dayner posted a career-high 89 on Flat.
Scoring the lone point in Reining for the Mustangs was Sara Beth Filiatreau, defeating the Bears' Britt Mclinay 72-71.5. Filiatreau also secured her second MOP of the season. Makenna Bomke and Madison Rafacz's rides ended in ties, preventing Baylor from scoring two points.
SMU dominated in Horsemanship, earning four points. Ava Blyth defeated the Bears' Avery Mortman 71.5-65. Shaelyn Boutelle took home her second win of the week after scoring a 77.5. The next point was won by Violet Shetler, besting Olive Holm 78.5-76.5. Shetler nabbed an MOP, her second in a day. Jayna Lagace picked up the final Western win for the Mustangs by posting a 73.
Captain Augusta Iwasaki claimed her third victory and third MOP in 24 hours, nabbing a Fences win with a score of 85. Caroline Signorino went perfect at the meet, going 2-0 after earning an 83 in Fences. Aedan Mooney notched the final point of the meet, recording a score of 82 to defeat Morgan McCarthy's 78. Schuyler Dayner finished the day undefeated, tying Baylor's Lauren Jorgensen 88-88.
