SETTING THE SCENE
• The Mustangs hit the road to face ACC opponent Boston College at Alumni Stadium on Saturday.
• SMU is coming off an overtime 26-20 victory over No. 10 Miami this past weekend. 
• Last week's upset is the highest-ranked win for SMU since defeating No. 6 Pitt 7-3 in 1983.
Jordan Hudson had a career game against the Hurricanes, registering his second 100+ receiving yards performance of the season with career-bests in receptions (11) and yards (136).
Ahmaad Moses put on a clinic against Miami, posting a career-high 15 tackles and two interceptions, including the game-winning stop in the Hurricanes' overtime drive.
Kevin Jennings excelled in the pass game last week, shattering his previous career high with his 365 passing-yard performance.

QUICK HITS
• The Mustangs have been explosive this year, recording 11 offensive scoring drives in 2025 that have resulted in touchdowns in under two minutes.
• The SMU defense has been opportunistic to start 2025, ranking first in FBS for turnovers gained (22), fourth in red zone defense (0.647), fourth in passes intercepted (14), fifth in fumbles recovered (8), sixth in defensive touchdowns (3), 16th in team sacks (2.78) and 18th in rushing defense (102.6). 
Kevin Jennings continues to be an impact player, ranking in the top 12 in the country in passing yards (7th, 2,484), completions per game (10th, 23.33) and passing yards per game (12th, 276.0).
• The defensive line of the Mustangs has been a force this season with Terry Webb (T2, 5.5), Jeffrey M'ba (T4, 5.0) and Cameron Robertson (T4, 5.0) ranking in the top five in total sacks in the conference. 
Ahmaad Moses has displayed his ball-hawk instincts in the pass game, tying for first in the nation with five total interceptions.
Romello Brinson currently ranks in the top 10 in the ACC in receiving yards (7th, 582), total receptions (8th, 40) and receiving yards per game (10th, 64.7).
• The Mustangs have started fast in games this year, outscoring their opponents 139-85 in the first half of games. 
• SMU's 60 wins in the last six years are tied with Texas for the most by any FBS team in the state with Texas. In addition, the Mustangs have won 26 of those on the road, tops for any team in the state since 2019.
• The Mustangs are 26-7 in their last 33 games, and 25-4 in their last 29 regular-season contests.
• SMU has posted a record of 30-3 during Lashlee's four seasons in charge when they score 30-or-more points in a game.
• The Mustangs have had at least seven receivers catch a pass in 37 of the past 40 games.
Rhett Lashlee boasts a 25-4 conference record in his career. His 25-4 record in his first 29 league games on the Hilltop is the best in SMU history.
• Lashlee has recorded 35 wins in his first 50 career games as HC of the Mustangs, good for second-best mark through 50 games in program history, trailing on Bobby Collins (39-10-1) from 1982-86.
• SMU entered the year ranked 16th in both the US LBM Coaches and Associated Press Preseason Polls, its highest preseason rank since 1985.

THE SERIES
• This is the fourth meeting between SMU and Boston College.
• The Mustangs lead the all-time series with a 2-1 record.
• The teams last met in 2024 at Ford Stadium where Mustangs defeated the Eagles 38-28.

ABOUT THE EAGLES
• Boston College has gone 1-8 in 2025, going 0-5 against ACC opponents.
• Most recently, the Eagles fell to Notre Dame 25-10 at home.

THE COACHES
Rhett Lashlee is in his fourth season as the head coach at SMU and has a 35-15 career record, with 29 wins the second most for a head coach in his first three years in program history. Lashlee, who served as offensive coordinator for the Mustangs for two seasons (2018-19), also served as the offensive coordinator at Miami in 2020 and 2021. A one-time finalist (2013) and two-time semifinalist (2019, 2020) for the Broyles Award, Lashlee has the distinction of being the only coach ever nominated for the Broyles Award four different times at four different schools (Arkansas State, Auburn, SMU, Miami).

• Lashlee was named a finalist last season for the prestigious Paul "Bear" Bryant Coach of the Year Award, handed out the nation's top coach as voted on by the National Sports Media Association, the Bryant Awards' Executive Leadership Team, and the Bryant Family. The Arkansas native was also named Coach of the Year by Dave Campbell's Texas Football publication, a finalist of the Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year Award, and a semi-finalist for the George Munger National Coach of the Year.

• Bill O'Brien is in his second season as Boston College's head coach, posting a collegiate coaching career record of 23-23.

MUSTANG CAPTAINS
Kevin Jennings, Alexander Kilgore, Ahmaad Moses, Isaiah Nwokobia, Logan Parr and PJ Williams were named captains for the 2025 season. 

BEST IN TEXAS 
• SMU has enjoyed much success in the past six seasons.
• The Mustangs have recorded 60 wins since 2019, tied with Texas for the most by the 13 FBS teams in the state. 
• Of those 60 wins, 26 have come on the road, tops for any team in the state since 2019.

CLOSING TIME 
• SMU has been able to close in the month of November under head coach Rhett Lashlee.
• Lashlee has posted an 12-1 (.923) mark for November as leader of the Mustangs.
• The .923 winning percentage for the month ranks as the highest for a head coach in the program's history.

I WANNA GO FAST

THE FRONT LINES
• The Mustangs have caused problems to other teams with their pass rush this year, ranking 16th in FBS in sacks with 25 in nine contests.
Terry Webb (T2, 5.5), Jeffrey M'ba (T4, 5.0) and Cameron Robertson (T4, 5.0) rank in the top five in total sacks in the conference. 
• SMU has recorded multiple sacks in all but two contests this year.

MOSES PARTS THE GREEN GRASS
Ahmaad Moses has played a crucial part on the Mustang defense this season.
• The Texas native has recorded five interceptions in 2025, tied for first in the nation in total interceptions and ranking.
• In SMU's upset victory over No. 10 Miami, Moses recorded a career-best 15 tackles and two interceptions including the game-winning stop in the Hurricanes' overtime drive, earning mulitple national weekly honors.

A DAY FOR THE AGES 
• The Mustangs had arguably the best day in Ford Stadium history on Nov. 1 of this year, knocking off No. 10 Miami in overtime.
• The historic victory was the first time the team has defeated a top-10 opponent in the stadium, while overall, the first win since Jan. 1, 1983 with a win over that caliber of opponent.
