GREENSBORO, N.C. (SMU) – Eric Stelmar claimed the 200 back school record during finals as SMU Men's Swimming & Diving concluded the ACC Championships on Saturday at Greensboro Aquatic Center.
 
Stelmar swam a 1:40.61 in the evening session of the event to narrowly top Jack Berube's 1:40.68 school record he set during prelims.
 
The Mustangs finished the conference championships in 11th place with a point total of 434.

Notable Results
1650 Free
Jack Hoagland placed 10th with a mark of 15:01.06. Laszlo Galicz swam a 15:20.20 to place 16th, giving the freshman the first conference points of his young career. Mark Van Eybergen (15:22.86) and Jack Forrest (15:25.34) placed 18th and 19th.
 
200 Back
Eric Stelmar topped Jack Berube's school record from earlier in the day with a mark of 1:40.61 in the B final to take a 12th place finish overall. Berube swam a 1:41.04 in the evening to place 13th in the event.
 
For the second time this season, Berube took down his dad's school record during prelims, this time in the 200 back, by touching the wall in 1:40.68 to punch his ticket to the evening session. Stelmar had the third-fastest SMU performance in the event with a time of 1:41.24 to join Berube in the B final.
 
Also in prelims, Russell Exum finished in 1:44.97 while Rob McCall recorded a time of 1:45.55.
 
100 Free
Harold Lockhart narrowly missed out on a final's appearance with a time of 42.80. Sage Sungail (42.91), Lance Butler (43.34), Jack Moore (43.75) and Chris Mykkanen (44.44) also saw action in the morning session.
 
200 Breast
Kristaps Mikelsons finished second in the C final with a personal-best time of 1:54.66.
 
Mikelsons earned himself a spot in finals with a time of 1:55.31 on Saturday morning. Angus Corbeau (1:57.28) and Joe Rusnock (1:58.42) also had appearances in the event.
 
400 Free Relay
In the final event of the Championships, the Mustangs' team of Harold Lockhart, Sage Sungail, Lance Butler and Jack Moore barely missed out on another school record with a time of 2:50.97. Lockhart's leadoff split of 42.63 was a personal best and upped his time at second on the SMU All-Time list.
