DALLAS (SMU) – SMU Men's Tennis swept Texas A&M Corpus Christi at the Styslinger / Altec Tennis Complex on Tuesday.
 
The Mustangs won the doubles point and went on to win three straight singles points to clinch the match.
 
Vikas Deo and Xavier Calvelo clinched the doubles point. The pair grabbed its first win in the first line to extend their winning streak to three matches and improve their record to 5-2.
 
Calvelo is the winningest Mustang in doubles play this season with an 8-3 record.
 
With the win, SMU has a 9-6 record as they head into ACC play.
 
How it Went
SMU came out flying as Noah McDonald and Louis Cloud took the first match of the day with a 6-2 win over Matthieu Coignet and Josef Zapletal.
 
Deo and Calvelo clinched the doubles point by defeating Tom Berry and Harry Fouzas (6-4).
 
Calvelo extended the lead for the Mustangs by winning 6-1, 6-2 over Omar Suarez.
 
Ofek Shimanov made it a match point for SMU by defeating N. Niox Chateau (6-1, 7-5) and Jerry Barton clinched the match with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Tom Berry.
