Chapel Hill, N.C. (SMU) – SMU Women's Tennis dropped their first road match of the weekend to No. 4 North Carolina (16-4, 7-1 ACC) 4-0 in Chapel Hill on Friday.
 
The No. 4 Tar Heels got the best of the Mustangs in doubles play to start the match, winning on courts one and two, 6-1 and 6-2, respectively. Arianna Stavropoulos and Kayla Schefke battled the Tar Heels on court three, even at 4-4 prior to the clinch.
 
In singles play of the match, the Tar Heels collected wins on courts one, five, and two to secure a 4-0 match win. In her eighth straight singles match against a ranked opponent, Sophie Llewellyn came up short to No. 9 Reese Brantmeier 6-1, 6-1. UNC's Alanis Hamilton got the best of Kayla Schefke on five, 6-3, 6-3, followed by a 6-2, 7-5 win by No. 15 Thea Rabman over Drew Morris.
