STANFORD, Calif. (SMU) – SMU men's golf finished in fifth of 30 teams at The Goodwin hosted by Stanford at Stanford Golf Course.
The Mustangs came into the final day tied for the lead with UCLA at five-under par. The Mustangs shot eight-over in the final round to find themselves in a share of fifth place with Santa Clara. It was the Mustangs fourth top third finish of the season, this one coming against a large field that featured 13 top 50 teams.
Will Sides led the Mustangs in Palo Alto with a two-under performance. He finished in the top 10 with an even par final round. Sides has his season scoring average down to 70.96.
Enrique Dimayuga excelled the first two days with rounds of 68 and 67. He would move into a tie for 33
rd after day three.
Matthew Foster moved up the leaderboard with a 71 on Saturday. He shot a 34 on the front nine and finished in 40th.
Areen Aggarwal moved up 19 spots during the final round. He carded even par in each of the last two days to finish in 55
th.
Zachary Kingsland carded a final round 77 to finish in a tie for 87
th.
The Mustangs have a brief break before preparing for the program's first ACC Championship running April 24-28 in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
