DALLAS (SMU) – SMU Women's Tennis fell to Tulsa (12-4) Sunday afternoon at the Styslinger/Altec Tennis Complex, 4-3. The loss moves SMU's record to 8-7 overall.

Sophie Llewellyn and Ellie Pittman had yet another dominant performance in doubles as they took down #28 Maria Berlanga/Lily Hutchings (TULSA) 6-1 for their third-ranked win as a tandem this dual match season to give SMU an early edge. Tulsa got the win back on court two as #58 Ana Naranjo Martinez/Mariana Manyoma Velasquez (TULSA) got the best of Drew Morris and Caroline McGinley (SMU) 6-4. After a back-and-forth match on court three, SMU came away with the doubles point, with Arianna Stavropoulos and Kayla Schefke winning 7-6 (11-9) over Tayla Wilmot/Isabella Basson (TULSA).
 
Stavropoulos extended the lead for the Mustangs in singles, collecting her fourth straight singles victory by defeating Tayla Wilmot (TULSA) 6-1, 6-2. Her doubles partner Schefke followed with a 6-3, 6-4 win at the sixth position to extend SMU's lead to 3-0. However, Tulsa started their comeback effort with wins on courts two and three. Lily Hutchings (TULSA) got the win over Ellie Pittman 6-2, 7-6 (7-4), and then #120 Drew Morris fell to Mariana Manyoma Velasquez (TULSA) 6-4, 6-3 to cut the Golden Hurricane's deficit to one. Tulsa then completed the comeback with back-to-back three-set wins on the final two courts. Ana Naranjo Martinez (TULSA) downed Millie Skelton 2-6, 6-3, 6-2 and #28 Maria Berlanga (TULSA) clinched the match 3-6, 6-2, 6-2 win over #45 Sophie Llewellyn.
