DALLAS (SMU) – As the SMU women's basketball program enters a new era under Head Coach Adia Barnes, SMU announced that season tickets are on sale for the 50
th year of women's basketball on the Hilltop.
Barnes, a former WBCA Coach of the Year Finalist and Naismith Coach of the Year Semifinalist, was named Head Women's Basketball Coach at SMU on April 5.
Barnes comes to the Hilltop from Arizona, where, over her nine seasons at the helm, she built Arizona Women's Basketball into a fixture on the national stage of college basketball while developing her reputation as one of the top coaches in the sport. Under Barnes, the program ascended to new heights in record-breaking fashion in all aspects - reaching the national championship game, signing elite recruiting classes and cementing deep connections with the local community. She led UA to six straight post-season appearances and five straight 20-win seasons, highlighted by an impressive run to the NCAA Championship Game in 2021.
The 2025-26 season is the 50
th year of women's basketball on the Hilltop, and the SMU Women's Basketball program boasts a proud history, with seven NCAA tournament appearances and five conference championships.
The ACC schedule boasts home opponents in Notre Dame, Florida State, Miami, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, Syracuse, Wake Forest and Boston College, bringing excitement to the Hilltop for this inaugural season under Coach Barnes. Season ticket prices will not increase.
With the recently enacted Ticket Act, SMU Athletics will now display ticket fees with the season ticket price online. These fees have been calculated to cover the overall credit card and processing fees that SMU incurs.
