AUBURN, Ala. (SMU) - SMU men's golf moved into seventh place after two rounds of the NCAA Auburn Regional.
The Mustangs came into the day sitting in fourth place needing a spot in the top five at the end of the three-day regional to qualify for the NCAA Championship. The Mustangs shot 10-over in round two to move into seventh. At eight-over for the tournament, the team sits four shots back of a qualifying spot. Georgia Tech occupies the fifth spot at four-over par. In-between at No. 6, Purdue is seven-over par. Auburn leads the way at 19-under.
Zachary Kingsland climbed up eight spots on the leaderboard on Tuesday. He sits in a tie for 11
th at one under par. He shot a 33 on the back nine to begin his day. He carded a 71 on Tuesday after an even par round one.
Will Sides holds a share of 18
th place after shooting a 75 during round two. He had a strong second half shooting one-under on the front nine.
Areen Aggarwal moved into 33
rd with a five-over day. He is four-over for the tournament after shooting 71 during the first round.
Enrique Dimayuga moved up 11 spots on the leaderboard with a 75. He holds a share of 52
nd.
Matthew Foster sits in 69
th at 11-over.
The Mustangs tee off at 8:25 a.m. CT on Wednesday. They will be paired alongside golfers from College of Charleston and Little Rock.
