ACC-SEC Challenge: Women's Basketball Hosts Arkansas Dec. 4, Men's Basketball At Vanderbilt Dec. 3

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (ACC/SMU) – SMU Men's Basketball will visit Vanderbilt on Dec. 3 and SMU Women's Basketball will host Arkansas on Dec. 4 as part of the ACC/SEC Challenge, ESPN announced on Thursday. The ACC/SEC Challenge will take place Dec. 2-4 with games across ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ACC Network and SEC Network.

Men's Basketball previously announced non-conference matchups with Butler at Moody Coliseum on Nov. 15 and a road contest at Mississippi State on Nov. 28. SMU's 18-game ACC schedule includes home and away games with Florida State and Louisville. The Mustangs will also host Boston College, Miami, North Carolina, NC State, Notre Dame, Virginia and Virginia Tech. The road-only contests are Cal, Clemson, Duke, Pitt, Stanford, Syracuse and Wake Forest. The Mustangs won't face Georgia Tech. The 2026 ACC Men's Basketball Tournament will take place March 10-14 at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte.

In Head Coach Andy Enfield's first season on the Hilltop, the Mustangs went 24-11 overall and earned a No. 1 seed in the NIT. SMU finished 13-7 in the program's inaugural season in the ACC to tie for fourth, recording a 7-3 road record in league play. The Mustangs also won the Acrisure Holiday Invitational. The incoming high school class has been rated as high as No. 6 and the overall class as high as No. 17, which are both the best in program history.

Women's Basketball is entering a new era under Head Coach Adia Barnes, a 2021 WBCA Coach of the Year Finalist and Naismith Coach of the Year Semifinalist. Barnes came to the Hilltop after nine seasons as the helm at Arizona, where she built Arizona Women's Basketball into a fixture on the national stage of college basketball while developing her reputation as one of the top coaches in the sport. Under Barnes, the program ascended to new heights - reaching the national championship game, signing elite recruiting classes and cementing deep connections with the local community. She led UA to six straight post-season appearances and five straight 20-win seasons, highlighted by an impressive run to the NCAA Championship Game in 2021.

SMU's ACC schedule includes home and away games with Pitt. The Mustangs will also welcome Notre Dame, Florida State, Miami, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, Syracuse, Wake Forest and Boston College to Moody Coliseum during ACC play with road-only meetings against Cal, Stanford, Clemson, North Carolina State, North Carolina, Duke, Virginia and Louisville. The 2026 Ally ACC Women's Basketball Tournament is set for March 4-8 at the Gas South Arena in Duluth, Georgia.
