DALLAS (SMU) — SMU Women's Tennis officially begin their 2025 fall season and first under Head Coach Kelcy McKenna this weekend. Six Mustangs will be competing at the Rice Invitational Sept. 19-21, in Houston, Texas at the George R. Brown Tennis Center.
 
The Mustangs will be competing against athletes from Texas A&M, Rice, Houston, North Texas, UTRGV and Sam Houston in the Rice Invitational.
 
Sophomore Sophie Llewellyn will be competing at the ITA All-American Championships in Cary, N.C. at Cary Tennis Park Sept. 20-28. Llewellyn earned prequalifying selection and is one of 160 players that look to qualify for the main bracket through the prequalifying singles draw. The ITA All-American Championship features 10 singles players and four doubles teams who will qualify for the NCAA Singles & Doubles Championship in Orlando, Florida, Nov. 18-23.
