The Mustangs begin the 50th season in program history by hosting Grambling State on November 4 in the team's season opener.

The opener will also be the program's first game under head coach Adia Barnes. Barnes, a former WBCA Coach of the Year Finalist and Naismith Coach of the Year Semifinalist, was named Head Women's Basketball Coach at SMU on April 5.

Fans will have a chance to see the team in action prior to the start of the season, as SMU will hold two public exhibition games inside Moody on Oct. 21 against West Texas A&M and on Oct. 27 against Cal State LA.

SMU overhauled its roster, signing 15 new players ahead of the 2025-26 season. Of the 15, eight players transferred in from a Power Four institution. The Mustangs will also be one of the more experienced teams in the nation, having added eight seniors/graduate students to the roster this season.  More information on the newcomers can be found here.

SMU Athletics and the Mustang Club are proud to introduce the Steal Club in support of SMU Women's Basketball. By pledging $10 for each steal the team makes this season, you'll directly support their defensive intensity and overall success on the court.
