CHARLOTTE (SMU/The ACC) – SMU Football announced its 2026 season on Monday alongside the Atlantic Coast Conference.
The season opens with a Monday night conference clash on Labor Day at Florida State in Tallahassee on Sept. 7. SMU hosts UC Davis five days later in its home opener in Ford Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 12. The Mustangs close out the month of September with a road game at Louisville (Sept. 19) and a home contest against Missouri State (Sept. 26).
October sees SMU home in Dallas for almost the entire month, starting with a contest against Boston College (Oct. 3), then the only bye week of the year on Oct. 10. Following that, the Mustangs face Virginia (Oct. 17), followed by Cal (Oct. 23 or Oct. 24) before going on the road for a matchup at Syracuse on Halloween.
SMU opens November at home with two games in Ford Stadium against Virginia Tech (Nov.6 or Nov. 7) and Wake Forest (Nov. 14). The Mustangs head to South Bend for a highly anticipated matchup with Notre Dame (Nov. 21) before closing out the regular season at Stanford (Nov. 28).
The ACC Championship game is set for Saturday, Dec. 5 in Charlotte with kickoff set for 11 AM CT on ABC.
