DALLAS (SMU) – No. 4 SMU Equestrian dropped a road meet against No. 1 Auburn 13-7 on Saturday at the Auburn University Equestrian Center.
In Reining, the Mustangs picked up two wins. The first point came from sophomore Addi Schmersal, outscoring her opponent, Sofia Tieche, 70.5-69.75. Freshman Madison Rafacz earned her point with a 70.5-score performance, remaining undefeated and boasting a record of 8-0-1.
SMU nabbed a point on Flat, coming from senior captain Augusta Iwasaki. The California native scored a 76 against Carolina Olsen's 75.
Violet Shetler secured the solo win for the Mustangs in Horsemanship, scoring a 73.5 for her ride on Chopper.
The Mustangs won Fences 3-2. Aedan Mooney scored an 84 against Auburn's Ariana Marnell to secure the first point. Senior Hannah Hoch defeated her opponent, Avery Glynn, with a mark of 83.5. The final point was won by Caroline Signorino after throwing down a 79.5 against Emily Jurnovoy.

The Mustangs will host their final meet of the season against No. 6 Oklahoma State on March 7 at 12:30 p.m. CT at the Dallas Equestrian Center, celebrating their ten seniors in a ceremony prior to the meet.
