DALLAS (SMU) – No. 4 SMU Equestrian dominated in its regular-season finale against No. 6 Oklahoma State on Saturday at the Dallas Equestrian Center, finishing with three MOPs and a score of 13-4.
The Mustangs dominated in Fences, pulling off their first sweep of the event this season. Senior Hannah Hoch secured the first point for SMU, besting her opponent 84-82. Captain Augusta Iwasaki recorded the same score as Hoch, defeating Oklahoma State's Bella Holway 84-75. Aedan Mooney threw down a score of 85 in her ride to add another point to the Mustangs' total. Freshman Schuyler Dayner found success in Fences, beating the Cowgirls' Ellie DuPuis 79.5-74.5. The final point came from sophomore Caroline Signorino. The New Jersey native earned a score of 87 to win the point and her first career MOP.
Horsemanship also proved to be a strong suit for the Mustangs at this meet, finishing 4-1. Senior Alexa Black and Junior Jayna Lagace led the Mustangs with scores of 78, each winning their point. Ava Blyth also added to the Mustangs' victory, contributing her point after posting a score of 76.25. Violet Shetler brought home the final win after defeating June Roberson 74-73.25.
SMU also took the win on Flat, posting an event score of 3-1. The first point came from Iwasaki after recording a score of 85.5. The performance earned the captain her sixth MOP of the season and her second on Flat. Aedan Mooney claimed her second victory of the day, defeating her opponent 81.5-79.5. Schuyler Dayner scored an 87 on Fedor, tying with Lourdes Low to prevent the Cowgirls from earning another point. The third and final win was awarded to Genevieve Johns who threw down a mark of 81.5.
The Mustangs and Cowgirls were closely contested in Reining, with two matchups ending in ties. Siena Krueger and Madison Rafacz both tied their points. Rafacz ends the regular season undefeated, finishing with a record of 8-0-2. The lone Reining point came from Sara Beth Filiatreau. Filiatreau nabbed her fourth MOP of the season after scoring a 73.25.
SMU ends the regular season with a record of 5-5.

After a month-long break, the Mustangs will travel to Ocala, Fla., to compete at the NCEA Championships on April 16-18.
