DALLAS (SMU) – SMU Women's Tennis concluded the regular season with a 4-1 win over No. 47 Stanford (11-9, 7-5 ACC) Sunday afternoon at the Styslinger/Altec Tennis Complex.   

The Mustangs improved to 15-6 overall and 7-5 in their second season in the ACC, after a 4-8 record in conference a year ago.    

SMU won its 17th doubles point of the season, winning on courts one and three. The court three pair of Ellie Mireles and Addison Comiskey came back to defeat Stanford's Sein Myoung and Morgan Shaffer 7-5.   

No. 21-ranked Amelie Van Impe and Caroline McGinley clinched doubles for the Mustangs with a 7-6(6) win over Stanford's court one pair.   

On court two, Stanford collected a win, outlasting SMU in a 7-6(11) match.   

After a default for Stanford to give the Cardinal a point, No. 59 Amelie Van Impe put the Mustangs back in front with her second consecutive ranked win, defeating No. 32 Monika Ekstrand, 6-4, 7-6(3).   

Soon after, SMU's Addison Comiskey continued her hot streak of play, defeating Tianmei Wang, 6-2, 7-6(3) on court four. The win extended her streak of victories to seven straight matches and also marked her first match and first win on court four.  

Freshman Ellie Mireles clinched the match for SMU, the first clinch of her career. Mireles defeated Stanford's Sein Myoung, 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 to give the Mustangs a 4-1 win.  

Two courts were deemed unfinished, but SMU led in the third set in both of those matches. No. 80 Sophie Llewellyn led 4-0 over No. 52 Alyssa Ahn on court two in the third frame, while Natalie Stasny had a 4-2 advantage in set three over Emma Sun on court six.
