ACC RELEASE

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (ACC/SMU) – Seven members of the SMU men's swimming & diving team earned Academic All-ACC honors, announced the Atlantic Coast Conference in a release on Wednesday.

Academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team include a 3.0-grade point average for the previous two semesters, a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career, has to have been enrolled at the institution for at least one year and the student must be classified as an undergraduate student. In addition, student-athletes must compete in at least 50 percent of their team's athletic contests.

In recognition of their academic excellence, Jack Forrest, Jack Moore, Nico Sobenes, Jack Berube, Kristaps Mikelsons, Sage Sungail and Joe Umhofer all captured the honor.

This is not the first academic honor that has been picked up by a Mustang this season. In early April, Berube, Forrest and Sungail were named to the CSC Academic All-District Team, along with sophomore Cameron Thompson.
