SMU (DALLAS) - Today, SMU Athletics officially launches the K7NG OF DALLAS campaign, presenting the case for Kevin Jennings to become the first SMU player since Doak Walker in 1948 to win the Heisman Trophy.

As SMU has reclaimed its place among college football's royalty, Kevin Jennings has been the face of the resurgence. In Dallas, his reign is already secure. Now, entering his senior season as one of the nation's most accomplished quarterbacks, he pursues a different crown — one that no Mustang has worn since Doak Walker in 1948.

The Claim to the Throne
Among returning FBS quarterbacks, Jennings enters the 2026 season with one of the nation's strongest résumés.

• Tied for third among returning Power Four quarterbacks in career wins as a starter (19)
• Third-highest winning percentage among active FBS quarterbacks (.731)
• Fifth among returning Power 4 quarterbacks in career passing yards (7,709).  
• Fifth among returning Power 4 quarterbacks in career passing touchdowns (55)
• Fifth nationally in career total offense for returning Power 4 quarterbacks (8,267)

K7NG OF DALLAS isn't just about where Kevin Jennings plays. It's about where he stayed.
