DALLAS (SMU) – The SMU women's program announced its 2026-27 non-conference schedule on Monday.

The 14-game slate features 10 games inside Moody Coliseum and is highlighted by a home game against Georgia as part of the SEC/ACC Challenge and playing in the Hoopfest Basketball Women's Challenge in Frisco during Thanksgiving week.

SMU opens the season with five straight home games, beginning with the season opener on Nov. 3 against Le Moyne. The Mustangs will host their annual Education Day Game on Nov.5 against Hampton at 11 am.

The team's first road test of the year will be a trip to Manhattan, Kansas, to face Kansas State on Nov. 17, a game that was decided by two points last season.

SMU will return to Moody on Nov. 21 to face Grand Canyon before spending Thanksgiving Week in Frisco to face Saint Mary's on Nov. 23 and Memphis on Nov. 25 as part of the Hoopfest Basketball Women's Challenge.

The Mustangs start the month of December off with a prime-time matchup against Georgia as part of the SEC/ACC Challenge on Dec. 2.

After a road contest against Tulsa on Dec. 9, SMU closes out the non-conference slate with three home games against Coppin State (Dec. 18), UTSA (Dec. 20), and Incarnate Word (Dec.23).

The Mustangs will also hold two public exhibitions to prepare for the start of the season, taking on West Texas A&M on Oct. 21 and UNT Dallas on Oct. 27.

SMU enters year two under Head Coach Adia Barnes, who brought in an exciting group of portal additions ahead of the 2026-27 season, including Sun Belt Freshman of the Year Kinsea Grimes (Coastal Carolina), CAA Defensive Player of the Year Grace Ezebilo (Charleston), Pitt transfer Theresa Hagans Jr., who earned 2025-26 ACC All-Freshman Team honors, and French standout forward Adja Kane.

The Mustangs also welcomed back star Zahra King, who delivered one of the most dominant performances in all of college basketball last season with a remarkable 40-point performance in a win over Pitt.
