SMU Equestrian Ranked Fifth In Preseason Poll

WACO, Texas (NCEA/SMU) – SMU Equestrian ranked fifth in the National Collegiate Equestrian Association's preseason coaches' poll, the association announced Wednesday.

The Mustangs finished the 2025-26 season with an overall record of 5-6. SMU was dominate at home, going 4-1 at the Barn in Dallas.SMU is coming off a season where it fell in the NCEA Quarterfinals to the soon-to-be National Champion, South Carolina. The Gamecocks enter 2026-27 ranked first in the preseason poll.

All but three opponents for SMU this upcoming season are in the Top-10 of the NCEA's preseason coaches poll.

The Mustangs will begin the 2026-27 season on the road against No. 1 South Carolina on Oct.1, followed by No. 7 TCU and No. 3 Auburn in three consecutive days of competition.
