DALLAS (SMU) — The SMU women's tennis team has released its 2026 fall schedule, second-year head coach Kelcy McKenna announced on Friday. The Mustangs will compete in 16 events across the United States, Mexico and Canada, including ITA, professional and collegiate tournaments throughout the fall.
In year one under Head Coach Kelcy McKenna, the SMU Women's Tennis program finished No. 24 in the final ITA rankings and reached the NCAA Championship Second Round. Seven players return from the 2025-26 squad, including ACC and ITA Texas Region Freshman of the Year Amelie Van Impe.
The team will begin its fall campaign at the ACU Invitational from Sept. 18-20 in Abilene, Texas. SMU will then make its way to Cary, N.C., for the ITA All-American Championships from Sept. 19-27.
Following that, the Mustangs will compete in the Rice Invitational from Sept. 25-27 in Houston and then make their first trip out of the U.S. to compete in the W100 Irapuato from Sept. 21-28 in Irapuato, Mexico.
Select Mustangs will continue professional competition at the W100 Templeton in Templeton, California, from Sept. 28 to Oct. 7, along with either the W356 Las Vegas or the W50 South Carolina, in Columbia, S.C.
SMU will jump back into ITA competition with the ITA Regional Championships, hosted by Baylor in Waco from Oct. 8-12. More professional competitions will follow, including stops in Oklahoma, Canada and back to Texas at the W100 Edmond, W50 Quebec City, W75 Saguenay and the W100 New Braunfels. These events will run from Oct.12-25.
The Mustangs also have other opportunities to compete at the ASU Thunderbird Invitational in Tempe, Arizona, from Oct. 30 to Nov. 2, followed by the final professional date of the fall in Quiterio, Mexico, for the WTA 125 Quiterio from Nov. 2-8.
Two ITA events follow: the ITA Sectional Championships in Waco and the Conference Masters in Fort Worth, both taking place from Nov. 5-8.
Qualifying athletes will close out the fall campaign at the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships in Athens, Ga. on Nov. 17-22.
