Makenna started her first year with the Mustangs in 2024 as an Intern Athletic Trainer on the SMU Sports Medicine Staff. She is now an Assistant Athletic Trainer responsible for the healthcare of the SMU Equestrian Team.
Makenna earned a Master of Science in Athletic Training at the University of Idaho in May 2023. She received her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science while she played soccer for the University of Idaho. While completing her Master’s degree, she was a student athletic trainer at SMU from 2022-2023. During her time, she gained experience working with the women’s Volleyball team and Spirit Squads.
Makenna is CPR and AED certified by the American Heart Association. Makenna is originally from Temecula, CA and currently resides in Dallas, Texas.
