Jarrey Foster returns to the Hilltop as a graduate manager for the 2022-23 season.
Foster played for SMU from 2015-19. The Mustangs were 77-22 with him in the lineup, including a 51-5 record at Moody Coliseum.
The Mustangs made it to No. 8 in the AP poll in the 2015-16 when SMU started 18-0 en route to a 25-5 season. He was a starter on the 2016-17 team that set an SMU-record 30 wins, claimed the American Athletic Conference regular season and tournament championships, and reached the NCAA Tournament.
He was also a part of two international trips while with the Mustangs. Foster played on a Global Sports Academy U.S. team for the 2016 Men's Basketball Goodwill Tour in Croatia. In the summer of 2017, SMU went 3-0 on a trip that included games in Montreal and Toronto.
Since finishing his basketball career at SMU in 2019, he has worked as a director of marketing for Legacy Exploration Oil and Gas. He has also run JF Operations, helping clients develop healthy habits and lifestyle with an emphasis on personal growth and development. Foster additionally was an individual basketball instructor with a holistic approach toward mental health, physical health and spiritual growth.
He graduated from SMU in 2019 with a degree in Sport Performance Leadership Major and a minor in Sport Management.
“Jarrey Foster is the type of young man that would be highly successful in whatever field he might choose. Fortunately for us, he has the desire to explore a career in coaching. There’s something special about former players coming back to represent their alma mater. Jarrey has so much to offer our players and our staff with his knowledge of the game and of SMU.” - Head Coach Rob Lanier
