2013-14 (Freshman): Played in all 37 games, starting 26, averaging 4.4 points and 3.8 rebounds in 19.4 minutes per game...GAME HIGHLIGHTS: Scored 8 points and hauled in a team-high 7 rebounds in SMU's 68-54 first-round NIT win over UC Irvine. Turned in a career-high 15 points on 6-9 shooting, including 2-3 from beyond the arc to go along with a pair of boards in 22 minutes in SMU's 87-72 win over No. 22 Memphis. Scored a season-high (at the time) 9 points on 3-4 shooting and tallied 3 assists in his third career start against UCONN. Had a team-high seven rebounds in 13 minutes against Texas State. Scored first two collegiate points against Rhode Island.
Prep: Was a guard for Coach Donnie Boyce at Proviso East High School in Chicago... As a senior, he was a Mr. Basketball finalist and named All-State third team as he averaged 13.4 points and 10.9 rebounds while leading his team to a 30-5 record and the 4A state semifinals... As a junior, he was All-State third-team after averaging 13 points and 9 rebounds as his team made it to the state final; had 13 points and 15 rebounds in the state semifinals, followed by a 25-point performance in the final... He has a four-star Scout rating and is listed as the No. 36 shooting guard by ESPN... Played AAU for the Mac Irvin Fire... He is also the younger brother of Phoenix Suns' guard Shannon Brown, who was coached by Larry Brown at the Charlotte Bobcats.
