Brett Koziczkowski enters his seventh season with the SMU men's soccer program. Koziczkowski spent his first two seasons as the team's Director of Operations and was promoted to assistant coach in January of 2016 and handles the program's year-round goalkeeper training.

During his time on the Hilltop, Koziczkowski helped develop three-time American Athletic Conference Goalkeeper of the Year, first-team all-conference selection, and MLS First Round draft pick,Â

Throughout his six seasons with the Mustangs, the Mustangs have been ranked as high as No. 3 nationally and reached the NCAA Tournament Round of 16 in both 2015 and 2017, and Elite Eight in 2019. He has helped mentor and develop 16 All-American Athletic Conference players including the 2016 AAC Rookie of the Year, 2017 AAC Defender of the Year, 2017 AAC Midfielder of the Year, 2019 Midfielder of the Year, and 2019 Defender of the Year, Koziczkowski has also been a part of two American Athletic Conference coaching staffs of the year (2015, 2017), and helped the Mustangs hoist five AAC trophies.Â

Prior to joining SMU, Koziczkowski spent three years as an assistant men's and women's soccer coach at Avila University in Kansas City, Missouri. Koziczkowski served as lead recruiter for the men's team and led the year round training of both the men's and women's goalkeepers amongst other responsibilities. Koziczkowski also served as Sports Information Director.

In his three years at Avila University, Koziczkowski helped lead the women's program to 10-plus wins every year as well as having the program’s goalkeepers rank in the top-15 in the nation in shutouts and goals against average in two of his three seasons. The Eagles also achieved their first ever National Top 25 ranking climbing as high as 19th in the polls in 2013 with a record of 15-3-1.

On the men's side, the Eagles reached their first ever Heart of America Conference Tournament in program history and achieved both their best overall and conference records in a decade. Koziczkowski was also responsible for recruiting the first ever duo in Avila history to sweep the HAAC Conference Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week awards through River Plate academy goalkeeper Jesus Revilla and Fulham Football Club academy forward Louis Gallagher.

Koziczkowski has also served as Director of Goalkeeping for the Jackson Wolves Soccer Club (TN) for two years, served as head girls soccer coach at Fort Worth Christian High School for two seasons, and spent three years as a head coach for the Missouri Olympic Development Program (ODP) placing six players in the regional pool.

Koziczkowski was a former goalkeeper at Lambuth University in Jackson, TN where he played for three seasons (2008-2010). While at Lambuth, Brett was an NAIA National Player of the Week nominee as well as an A.I.I Conference Player of the Week nominee. Koziczkowski was also a member of Lambuth's only NAIA National Tournament team in 2008.Â

Koziczkowski is a graduate of Lambuth University, has a master's degree from Avila University, and has received the NSCAA Advanced National Diploma as well as the NSCAA Level II Goalkeeping Diploma.

A Stevens Point, Wisconsin native, Koziczkowski currently resides in Forney, Texas with his wife Sarah and their dogs Pickle and Vasily. They welcomed a son, Sully, in January of 2020.Â
