SMU Athletics

Leoni Mierswa is in her first season on the coaching staff (2025-26) as a graduate assistant after previously competing for the Mustangs for five seasons. During her time as an athlete, Mierswa was a valuable member of both the cross country and track and field teams — earning numerous conference honors and representing the Mustangs on the regional stage. She currently still holds the SMU indoor 3,000 record with a time of 9:12.47 and is a member of the relay team who holds the record in the Distance Medley Relay.
