Biography
Erika Kirk comes to SMU from Vista Murrieta High School where she was the 2024 Woodbridge XC Invitational Rated race champion, 4-time CIF XC state qualifier, 2024 Footlocker XC Nationals qualifier, and 3-time Southwestern League champion. She holds her high school’s 3,200 school record and was named their 2025 Athlete of the Year. She was coached by NCAA and multiple PAC-10 champion, Karen Candaele (previously Hecox). Erika graduated in the top 2% of her high school with a 4.3 cumulative GPA. She is studying Mathematics with a minor in Education. Her family includes her father and mother, Alfonso Jr. and Melanie; brother, Alfonso III; and sister, Naketris.
