Parrish-Lauryn

Lauryn Parrish

Former University of Kansas team captain and four-time All Big-12 First Team member Lauryn Parrish was named volunteer assistant women’s swimming coach in August of 2022 and now serves as an assistant coach.

Parrish was a school record holder in the 800 freestyle relay and qualified for the U.S. Olympic Team Trials in 2016 and 2020.

“Lauryn is very dynamic and has a great deal of knowledge in swimming,” Head coach Ozzie Quevedo said. “Her experience as a former student athlete, gives her a very unique perspective and that same perspective lines up directly with our vision as a team.”

For the Mustangs, Parrish assists in running practices and the coordination of student-athlete scheduling. She graduated from the University of Kansas in May of 2021 with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing Studies.

“SMU sets the bar high, academically and athletically, and our student athletes never seize to amaze me by helping set that high standard of what it truly means to be a Mustang,” Parrish said. “The work ethic and enthusiasm we have in the water and on deck is infectious day in and day out.”
