American Athletic Conference All-Academic Team (2023)

2023-24 (Jr.): Was a key swimmer for SMU in the long course events. Recorded a new personal best in the 1650 free in the final day of the SMU Invite. Finished second in the 1000 free with a time of 10:31.41 on the road against Houston, setting a new personal best.

Prior to SMU: Spent fall of 2021 at Hawai'i.

Prep: Four year letterwinner under Gregg Bisheff at Viewpoint High School... Three-time high school record holder in the 500 free, 200 IM and 100 butterfly... Swam club for Mohammad Khadembashi at Team Santa Monica... Member of the Venezuelan National Team... Competed at the 2019 Central American Games in Barbados, two-time silver medalist (800 free and 200 fly)... Competed at the 2019 Junior World Championships in Budapest swimming the 1500 free, 800 free, 400free, 200 fly and 400 IM... Competed at the 2021 Central American Games in Puerto Rico, four-time gold medalist (1500 free, 200 fly, 4x 200 free relay, and 10k open water) and won bronze in the 100 fly and silver in the 5k open water event... Competed in the 2021 Junior South American Open Water Championships in Peru finishing 5th in the 10k. 

Personal: Daughter of Marisol and Ethan Penner... Has three brothers - Michael, Daniel and Everest - and one sister - Rebecca... Mom, Marisol, was a professional triathlete and cyclist for Venezuela and competed in the 1991 Ironman World Championships in Kona.
