HIGH SCHOOL: Elizabeth Smits is a DFW native, coming from Southlake where she graduated from Carroll Senior High School. She is a four-time NXN qualifier, 4-time Texas 6A State Cross Country Qualifier, New Balance Indoor Nationals qualifier and Nike Indoor Nationals individual qualifier. In the top 7% of her high school graduating class, Smits had a 4.3 GPA and will study biochemistry at SMU with a minor in music with a focus on piano performance. She is the daughter of Jan and Kathleen Smits, who ran cross country and track and field at the Unites States Air Force Academy. She has two younger siblings, Andrew and Amelia.
