Biography
Sophomore (2025): (Indoor) Kirin ran a PB in the 200 at Texas A&M's Charlie Thomas Invitational of 24.82. Her PB of 55.76 int he 400 was ran at the Jarvis Scott Invite. In the Mustang's debut ACC Indoor Track and Field Championships, Kirin was a member of two top-10 finishing relays. (Outdoor) In SMU's first home meet in 27 years, Kirin was a member of the first-place 4x400 team, who ran 3:42.48 for the meet record. She placed fourth in the 400mH at the ACC Outdoor Champiuonships in the 400mH, running a time of 57.75 -- becoming the school record holder. She continued to lower her record in championship season. She qualified for the NCAA Division I West First Round, running a time of 57.37.
Freshman (2024): (Indoor) Kirin ran a personal best time in the 60mH (8.72) and a season best in the 400 (56.85). She medaled at the The American Indoor Track and Field Championships as a member of the third-place 4x400. She placed 15th in the 60mH. (Outdoor) Kirin ran 59.00 in the 400mH to place third at The American Outdoor Track and Field Championships. She also was a member of the fourth-place 4x400 team that ran 3:41.19 at the championships. As a freshman, she qualified for the NCAA West First Round in the 400mH.
High School: Kirin Chacchia chose SMU because it is close to home and a great school. From Frisco, she attended Heritage High School and trained under Chryste Gaines – becoming a multiple time state champion. As a senior, she ran 15.24 in the 100-meter hurdles and 41.89 in the 300-meter hurdles. Chacchia plans to study psychology.
