DALLAS (SMU) -- Ugo Ihemelu (Cedar Hill, Texas) recently became SMU's newest men's soccer signee, as announced by SMU head coach Schellas Hyndman. Ihemela joins a stellar 2001 fall Mustang class, which includes such players as goalkeeper Erick Foss, forwards Ryan Latham and Adam Robertson, midfielders Cody Hanna, Jeff Miller and Jake Jackson, and defenders Wes McElroy, Ross Miller, Ross Spencer, and T.J. Tomasso.
Ihemelu, a 5-11 midfielder, attended Cedar Hill High School where he was a three-time All-District selection. He also earned Newcomer of the Year and All-District Offensive MVP honors. He was coached by Eric Jacobs. Ihemelu also plays club soccer with the Texas Lightning '83 Black team, coached by Chris Hyden.
Ihemelu is a member of Who's Who Among American High School Students and has been on Cedar Hills' Honor Roll.
