Terre Haute, Ind. - The SMU women's cross country team made a strong showing at Saturday's pre-national meet hosted by Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Ind. Two Mustang runners placed in the top-100 of the women's white race held at the LaVern Gibson Championship course (6,000-meter course). Sophomore Rachael Forish placed 55th with a time of 21:27 while teammate Jessica Jackson finished in 87th place with a mark of 21:51.
As a team, the Mustangs finished in 32nd place. Stanford took top team honors followed by Notre Dame, Columbia, BYU, and North Carolina State to round out the top-five team finishers. Other SMU scores include Sierra Anderson (23:26), Jessa Simmons (23:26), Anne Gustafson (23:41) and Rachel Barber (24:01).

SMU's next competition takes place on Saturday, Oct. 29, at the Conference USA Championship held in Orlando, Fla. (UCF serves as host).
