Roswell, Ga. - SMU women's golfers Jennifer Ackerson (Allen, Texas) and Kristina Rothengatter (Ruesselsheim, Germany) continued their quest for the 2005 U.S. Women's Amateur Golf Championship title Wednesday, as both players defeated their respective match play opponents on the Settindown Creek Course at the Ansley Golf Club in Roswell, Ga. Ackerson defeated Kim Welch (Sacramento, Calif.), 5 and 4, while Rothengatter defeated Esther Choe (Scottsdale, Ariz.), 4 and 3.

Match play involving the 32 players remaining in the competition continues Thursday. Ackerson faces off against Angela Park (Torrance, Calif.) at 8:00 a.m. ET while Rothengatter takes on Nannette Hill (Pelham Manor, N.Y.) with a 7:50 a.m. ET tee time.
