SMU Places Second at Rice Invitational

Houston, Texas - The SMU women's cross country team placed second in Saturday's Rice Cross Country Invitational in Houston. Host Rice claimed the team title with 34 points followed by the Mustangs' 43 points. Lamar finished in third with 78 points followed by Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and Stephen F. Austin.
SMU's top finisher was junior Rachael Forish who took second place in the 4k event with a time of 14:15.00. Teammate Jessica Jackson finished in sixth place with a mark of 14:52.00. Sierra Anderson and Jessa Simmons finished in 10th and 11th place, respectively with times of 15:01.00 and 15:02.00. Anne Gustafson took 14th place with a time of 15:19.00.
Other SMU finishers include Magan Moore (19th place - 15:26.00), Rachel Barber (30th place - 16:15.00), Kelsey Howard (37th place - 16:36), and Courtney Dugan (38th place - 16:36.00).
SMU's next meet is set for Saturday, September 16 at the Texas A&M Invitational in College Station, Texas.
