MEMPHIS, TENN. (SMU) - Senior midfielder Allison Brill scored her team-leading fourth goal of the season - and second in as many games - in a 3-1 loss at Memphis Sunday afternoon.

The Mustangs fell to 5-7-1 overall and 1-5 in Conference USA games, while Memphis improved to 11-2-1 over all, and 4-0-1 in C-USA games.

The Tigers struck first when Krista Turned tucked a crossing pass inside the near post in the fourth minute from short range in the fourth minute, and extended the lead on a goal by Vendula Strnadova in the 28th minute.

But Brill cut the deficit in half early in the second half when she scored an unassisted goal in the 58th minute from the top of the penalty box. She now has a team-high nine points this season, on four goals and an assist.

Memphis got an insurance goal in the 65th minute from Kylie Hayes.

SMU returns home this week to face Rice at 7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 26, and the University of Houston at 1 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 28. For a complete schedule and ticket information, log on to SMUMustangs.com.
