DALLAS (SMU) – Six Mustangs SMU women's soccer players were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team, announced by the organization on Tuesday.
Aubrey Brown,
Kelly Gordon,
Sydney Japic,
Sammy Nieves,
Lydia Ungashick and
Maura Yumul earned the honor for their performance on the pitch and in the classroom last season.
Only six players per team are allowed to be nominated for the award. To be eligible to receive the distinction, the student athlete must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5 and must compete in 90 percent of the institution's matches played or must start in at least 66 percent of the institution's matches.

SMU finished year two in the ACC with an overall record of 8-8-2 and a home record of 6-3-1. The Mustangs totaled six shutouts during the season and recorded 26 assists on 25 goals scored and had 13 different goal scorers during the season.
SMU faced five ranked opponents throughout the season, four of which were ranked inside the top-10. The Mustangs also faced eight teams that made the 2025 NCAA Tournament during the regular season.
