DALLAS (SMU) - The SMU men's tennis team will host a double-header this Sat., March 24 at the Bent Tree Country Club. The Mustangs will face No. 16 Oklahoma St. at noon and then will follow-up with Centenary at 6:00 p.m.
SMU is 7-7 on the season and are led by the No. 67 singles player, Alex Skrypko. He plays at the No. 1 singles position and pairs with Federico Murgier at No. 1 doubles. Robin Fahgen has posted the most wins for the Mustangs as he holds a 9-4 record.
Oklahoma St. is ranked No. 16 in the nation with a 9-1 record and their No. 1 and 2 singles both ranked. Oleksandr Nedovyesov leads the Cowboys with a 7-3 record at No. 1 singles and a ranking of No. 57. He is complemented at the No. 2 spot by No. 21 Ivan Puchkarov who has posted a 6-3 record. At No. 1 doubles, the Cowboys feature the No. 83 tandem of Daniel Byrnes and Nedovyesov as they have notched a 6-4 record.
The Mustangs will finish the day with a match against Centenary that evening. The Gents have yet to win a match this season as they have combined for a 0-7 record including five sweeps.
