EAST MEADOW, N.Y. (SMU) - The SMU women swimmers posted a strong outing today at the USA Swimming Spring Championships that are being held in New York over the weekend. Angela San Juan Cisneros and Justine Clark both posted qualifying final times in the 100 fly and the 400 free relay team claimed second-place.
In the prelims, San Juan Cisneros posted a time of 1:01.96 which notched a fifth-place finish and a spot in the A-final while Clark touched in at 1:03.22 for 21st which earned her a spot in the C-final.
Later in the evening, the two swam in the finals. With a time of 1:02.15, San Juan Cisneros placed sixth in the A-final and Clark bettered her prelim time with a fourth-place finish in the C-final and a time of 1:03.04.
The two Mustangs joined their other two teammates, in the 400 free relay competition. The Mustang relay team of Jennifer Blackman, San Juan Cisneros, Michelle Vlasakova and Clark posted a second-place time of 3:51.98.
The competition will conclude tomorrow as all four Mustangs will compete in the 50 free.
